Lahore Electric Supply Company Limited (LESCO), one of Pakistan’s largest power distribution companies licensed to distribute and supply electricity to 7.28 million valued consumers across Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Okara, and Nankana Districts, has announced two contract-based vacancies for technical professionals through Open Testing Service (OTS). The positions — Assistant Manager Communication and Network at BPS-17 equivalent and Network Support Engineer at BPS-16 equivalent — are both open to Punjab province candidates on an open merit basis.
LESCO jobs 2026 are being offered on an open contract with a lump sum pay package and a six-month probation period. These are non-pensionable positions that will not be converted into permanent posts at any stage — a condition LESCO has explicitly stated upfront. While they are contract appointments, the institutional standing of LESCO as a major federal sector power distribution company under the Ministry of Energy makes these positions professionally significant for IT and telecommunications engineers looking to build a career in Pakistan’s energy sector.
Applications must be submitted through OTS website with a test fee of Rs. 80 per applicant. Additionally, a complete application package must be sent by courier to the OTS office in Islamabad. The last date for receipt of applications is June 15, 2026.
About LESCO
LESCO was incorporated under the Companies Ordinance 1984 and operates as a licensee for electricity distribution across a significant portion of Punjab’s most economically active geography. With more than 19,000 employees and 7.28 million consumers, it is one of the largest DISCOs (Distribution Companies) in Pakistan. LESCO operates under the oversight of the Ministry of Energy and is governed by the Board of Directors and relevant regulatory frameworks including NEPRA.
Working at LESCO as a technical professional means contributing directly to the power distribution infrastructure of Punjab’s core urban and peri-urban belt — a technically challenging and nationally significant role. Job-specific certifications and relevant experience with LESCOs or other power sector entities will be given advantage, reflecting the value LESCO places on institutional memory and sector knowledge.
Available Positions and Eligibility
1. Assistant Manager Communication and Network | BPS-17 Equivalent | 01 Post | Punjab Open | Age: Up to 35 Years
Required Qualification: 16 years of education or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline with at least 60 percent marks from a duly recognised university by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
This is the more senior of the two positions at BPS-17 equivalent. The broad range of acceptable disciplines — from IT and Computer Science to Telecommunications and Electrical Engineering — reflects the multi-dimensional nature of managing communication and network infrastructure within a large power distribution company. LESCO’s network includes substation communication systems, SCADA networks, fiber optic links, enterprise IT networks, and customer communication infrastructure — all requiring technical management expertise.
For candidates with post-graduate qualifications in any of the listed disciplines along with hands-on network management, telecommunications, or IT infrastructure experience — particularly in a utility or industrial environment — this is a directly relevant and competitive position.
2. Network Support Engineer | BPS-16 Equivalent | 01 Post | Punjab Open | Age: Up to 33 Years
Required Qualification: 16 years of education or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunications, or any IT-related discipline with at least 60 percent marks from a duly recognised HEC university.
A technical engineering support role focused on network operations, troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance. The BPS-16 equivalent and age limit of 33 years makes this slightly more accessible than the Assistant Manager post and targets mid-level network engineering professionals with relevant academic and technical backgrounds.
Candidates with certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or relevant industry credentials alongside their degree qualifications will have a meaningful advantage, given LESCO’s specific note that job-specific certifications and relevant experience will be given advantage in the selection process.
LESCO Jobs 2026 – Key Conditions and Instructions
Contract basis only — non-pensionable. All appointments are purely on open contract with a lump sum market-based pay package and a six-month probation period. There are no long-term benefits and these posts will not be converted into permanent positions at any stage. Candidates should make this career decision with full awareness of the contract-only nature.
Minimum 50 percent passing marks in written test. Simply appearing in the written test does not qualify a candidate for employment. Only qualified candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will be allowed to appear in the written test and interview. Mere passing does not guarantee selection.
60 percent marks in degree is the threshold. Degrees with CGPA will be evaluated against the HEC standard chart available on the HEC website. Only completed degrees are considered — candidates to whom final result cards have not been issued or results are awaited will not be considered.
Job-specific certifications and LESCO experience get advantage. LESCO has explicitly stated that job-specific certifications and relevant experience with LESCO or related power sector entities will be given advantage. This is a clear signal that candidates with prior experience in DISCOs, GENCOs, or power sector IT and network roles will be strongly preferred.
Police verification is mandatory. Clearance of character and antecedents from the agencies and police shall be mandatory without which no candidate will be selected.
Dismissed or screened-out employees of any organisation or anyone with a criminal record are not eligible for employment in LESCO.
Concealment or misrepresentation of facts at any stage will lead to disqualification not just from this recruitment but from all future LESCO tests and exams. Academic certificates, degrees, domicile, and police verification will all be verified by respective issuing authorities. Bogus or fake documents will result in withdrawal of employment and recovery of salaries paid.
No TA/DA will be paid for written test or interview.
LESCO selection is transparent. LESCO has included an explicit warning in the advertisement that nobody can influence the selection process. No contact should be made with anyone claiming to facilitate selection — LESCO’s process is governed by Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Energy, and BOD LESCO approved rules.
Selected candidates can be posted anywhere under LESCO’s jurisdiction.

Final Thoughts
LESCO jobs 2026 are a focused but professionally meaningful opportunity for IT, telecommunications, and network engineering graduates in Punjab to join one of Pakistan’s largest power distribution companies in a technical management role. The two positions — Assistant Manager Communication and Network and Network Support Engineer — may be limited in number but they carry the institutional weight of LESCO and the practical significance of maintaining the power infrastructure of millions of consumers across Punjab’s core districts.
The contract nature and non-pensionable structure are important caveats to consider, but the lump sum market-based pay package and the professional exposure within a major DISCO more than compensate for candidates looking to build sector-specific technical expertise.
The deadline is June 15, 2026. Visit www.ots.org.pk, pay your Rs. 80 fee, and send your complete physical application package to the OTS office in Islamabad before the closing date. Also read the full job description on www.lesco.gov.pk before applying.
