Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IT systems and infrastructure, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead and mentor junior team members. As a Senior IT Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's IT infrastructure to ensure its reliability, security, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
- Design, implement, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage systems, and virtualization technologies.
- Evaluate existing infrastructure and recommend improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and security.
Systems Administration:
- Administer servers, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and server applications (e.g., Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server).
- Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
Security Management:
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization's IT infrastructure from cyber threats, including malware, viruses, and unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, and implement appropriate remediation measures.
Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure the integrity and availability of data and systems in the event of a disaster or system failure.
- Test and validate backup and disaster recovery procedures regularly to ensure their effectiveness.
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues, collaborating with other IT teams and vendors as needed.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Share knowledge and expertise with other team members, and mentor junior engineers to facilitate their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure design, implementation, and administration.
- Proficiency in server administration (Windows Server, Linux), networking, and security technologies.
- Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, CISSP) are desirable.
